Well, we had been running a facebook page and a twitter for a very long time now. We have used both to update people, friends and groups of same minded friends about new posts and topics on the lifestyle.
Today, facebook decided to close our account. We have never posted nudity, we have never used profanity and we have never attacked anyone. we have offered tips and advice about our region and the swinging lifestyle that we choose.
Take a moment to search on facebook and you will find groups dedicated to porn, hate groups, and hateful activism in a number of groups either offensive and pornographic. Many of these groups have years in existence and huge followings. facebook doesnt choose to remove groups of gay/lesbian or homosexual rights and issues, but took ours down without a thought.
Both homosexuality and swinging lifestyle are considered non mainstream by most americans, and both involve personal private sexual choices between consenting adults.
If a person was to make the argument that homosexuality is not a choice, but a natural preference born into a human being, is not desire for multiple partners far more natural and prevelent?
Is there a man or woman anywhere that doesn’t have some level of this type of desire as part of their genetic code?
Why is it gay and lesbian groups are afforded so much protection, rights and “status” as a minority group for their personal choice, but when it comes to our personal choice, something far more common and natural, it is considered a fad or fringe?
This is not a shot at gay and lesbian groups or people. Keep in mind most women in the lifestyle identify as bisexual, and it is never a person I would judge, but the double standard towards the lifestyle is undeniable.
Facebook calls gay/lesbian groups, rights of minority groups and free expression and think in the same breath they can pass judgement on us. Two personal choices born of the same natural human pursuit of happiness.
We wrote them today, and will consider consulting a lawyer if they do not respond with some respect for our personal lifestyle choices.
